WHAT ARE MINI SESSIONS?

Mini Sessions are shorter sessions designed to capture a handful of beautiful professional photographs of your children and family. They are a great opportunity to enjoy the professional photography experience without necessarily investing in a full family session. This is perfect if you’re not sure yet how your little one would react being in front of the camera. My goal is to make them fun and creative so that you are able to take away some gorgeous uniques photographs that you will not be able to capture anywhere else.

HOW DO THEY WORK?

Mini Sessions are held on a specific date and sessions run back to back. You reserve your time slot by booking through the links available on the calendar.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Mini Session Packages include a 5-10 minute family session PLUS the designated number of high resolution digital files (photos) of your choosing. I edit the best photos from your session and provide you with an online gallery to choose the photos you want to download.

Upgrade options

If you decide that you love all your photos, you can choose to upgrade your package to include ALL THE DIGITAL FILES from your session for an additional fee. Promotional discounts are applied when upgrades are purchased before your photo session. All upgrades are optional and the booking website will show you the available upgrade options. Once clients have chosen their photos, photos will be provided in digital format in an online gallery for clients to automatically download. Due to the nature of an automatic digital download, all purchases cannot be exchanged or refunded. Please view the whole gallery first before making your choices.

who is included?

Each immediate family book their own time slot as each gallery is designated its own email address for access. If you wish to include grandparents or wish for a group picture of the cousins, each immediate family book the time slots right after each other. Images will not be released until paid.

prices?

All sessions have its own designated starting price point, with a guaranteed delivery within 3 weeks. Upgrades include a rush order or a full gallery at an additional price.

Sessions AFTER Thanksgiving have a higher rate, as this will include the rush-fee for the gallery to be delivered within 1 week.

When will I see the photos?

About 3 weeks after your session, clients are provided with a private gallery at which point they can choose their designated number of favorite photos to keep from their session. Be sure to view the whole gallery first before choosing your images to download. There are NO EXCHANGES if you have already downloaded your files. You will be prompted to make an additional purchase if you wish for a different photo.

retouching?

No extra charges for retouches and touchups here. Because I want to deliver these images to the clients ASAP, the only retouching I do are
1. cropping,
2. saturating the colors,
3. and straightening the frame.

Expiration date

Online Galleries will be available for 3 weeks ONLY, so please make sure to download your chosen images within receipt of your private gallery. A re-accessing fee will apply if galleries need to be re-uploaded for you to download.

Be sure to view the whole gallery before making your downloads as their are NO RETURNS on digital files.

LOCATION

Sessions are marked with the town the photo sessions will take place. Once the non-refundable fee payment processed and completed, the exact address will be sent to the email address used to book the session.

Do you only photograph babies?

Our style works for ages 6 months – 106 years! That said…

There is no age limit, however, I ask that babies are able to sit up on their own or hold themselves sturdy with assistance from a parent.

We love working with older children and teenagers too! For anyone over 18 please reach out if you’re interested in a session, we may need to book outside of our mini sessions. Make sure to check your spam folder just in case!

If you show up on time, you are late.

Please allow extra time for getting the baby out of the car seat, hanging up your coats, quick check in the mirror, etc. If you are late to your session, I can NOT extend your session time. Sessions run back to back, and therefore your session will be cut short by the amount of time you were late. If you are a no show, there are no refunds!

Will you photograph siblings together?

We like to photograph siblings together at the end of their individual sessions, however, we can’t guarantee group participation. Sometimes it’s magic and sometimes it doesn’t work out.

Do you photograph families?

We don’t. gracefuleye photography doesn’t offer family portrait sessions unless it is one of our promotional events (i.e. Mama-and-me sessions, Grandparents Day, etc.) The studio is really small. My largest group so far is a family with two sets of twins, with the parents that drove to the studio, and that was already pretty tight.

PETS

Unless otherwise noted, all sessions are held at a private property. I ask that you please leave your pets at home.

Do you provide all the props?

I provide everything except your outfits! Client Closet is not available for mini sessions. All the props and fun things you see in all the photos are available for your session. There will be plenty of cool things for your kids to utilize for their photos!

How can we prepare?

Make sure that your child’s face is clean before you arrive (many children do not like having their faces wiped, it is best to do it before hand allowing the portrait process to be a positive experience.) Moisturize their face, arms, and hands a day before the session, and come free of crumbs and boogies!

Remove chipped nail polish and temporary tattoos.

Is practicing expressions helpful?

We aim for genuine reactions and expressions, and find that sometimes too much prep can hinder the child’s willingness to participate. The main thing is to let them know that this will be a fun experience. We find that great results come from kids feeling that there is no pressure to perform.

Can I take photos on my cell phone during the session?

Short answer is NO. Cell phones are not permitted during your holiday session. Please do not have parents/grandparents come along and take cell phone photos in the background. They will be asked to leave.

RAIN DATES

While most of the sessions with gracefuleye photography will be held indoors, I also offer outdoor sessions (i.e. Fall sessions where the leaves are so colorful, kids playing in the snow as the Christmas theme, etc.) Please make sure to read the full page when booking to check your designated Rain Date.

Rain Dates are the date the session will be moved to if the weather is not in our favor on the day of your session. There is no flexibility on this date. If you can not make the rain date, there is NO REFUND and NO alternate reschedule. Rain dates are usually the folowing day or the following weekend.

Can I purchase additional image files and prints?

Yes, there are options for individual digital images, the collection and prints of all sizes. Your private gallery will direct you how to make additional print or digital orders.

Where should I print these portraits?

I always recommend printing with professional labs. There is so much variance that can happen in printing, it is worth spending more for high quality. Promise. You can order prints directly through your private gallery too!

What should I do during the photoshoot?

While your child is being photographed it is up to you and them if you’d like to be close by or to step away while they express themselves.

The main thing is to allow the photographer to build a rapport with your child, capturing their attention and focus.

With younger children and “runners” we can count on it being a team effort and a bit of a work out!

We shoot many frames to get the best images and expressions, so let them do their thing. The best results come with less pressure and more fun!

Connecting with your kiddo and bringing out their natural expressions is our specialty, it can take some time to get there. Please keep phones and tablets put away. We will only use these distractions and entertainment as a last resort if needed.

NO REFUNDS

All digital products and downloads are final. There are no exchange or return on digital files.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to reschedule your session, please give us at least one week’s notice so that we have a chance to fill the spot. If there is swelling or anything questionable, feel free to send us a photo so we can assess if we should reschedule or move forward with the session.

Without one week’s notice, deposits are non-transferable unless there are extenuating circumstances (illness, family emergency, etc.)

Mini Session retainers are NON Refundable. Once you select your time & date and you have paid for your time slot, you have officially booked your session. If you end up having a conflict with your date, I can try to move you to another date ONLY IF there are spots available. This can happen NO later than one week prior to your session.

After you have booked your session, a confirmation email will be sent to you with additional details within 48 hours.

Mini Sessions can NOT be exchange for any other mini session (eg, you can not exchange your holiday mini session for a spring mini session) or full prices session.
